I’m sure you meant well but your device is not using “retroreflective” material. It is simply a reflective mirror. Look up “retroreflector” in Wikipedia. Retroreflectors, by definition, return light to the source, used for example for road signs to reflect car headlights back to the general area of the headlight, including the driver. Retroreflectors are usually made of high refractive-index glass beads (used on projection screens), or made as corner-cube reflectors (used in bicycle reflectors, traffic cones and road-crew vests). Retroreflective material would return sunlight to the sun, exclusively.
